HD lyd i forhold til almindelig lyd {{forumTopicSubject}}

    Surround Sound Technologies:

    DTS HD Master Audio
DTS-HD Master Audio is capable of delivering audio that is a bit-for-bit identical to the studio master.
DTS-HD Master Audio delivers audio at super high variable bit rates -24.5 mega-bits per second (Mbps) on
Blu-ray discs and 18.0 Mbps on HD-DVD - that are significantly higher than standard DVDs . This bit stream is so "fast"
and the transfer rate is so "high" that it can deliver the Holy Grail of audio: 7.1 audio channels at 96k sampling
frequency/24 bit depths that are identical to the original. With DTS-HD Master Audio, you will be able to experience
movies and music, exactly as the artist intended: clear, pure, and uncompromised.

    DTS HD High Resolution Audio
DTS HD High Resolution Audio can deliver up to 7.1 channels of sound that is virtually indistinguishable from the original.
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio delivers audio at high constant bit rates superior to standard DVDs---6.0 Mbps on Blu-ray
iscs and 3.0 Mbps on HD-DVD to produce outstanding sound quality. It is capable of delivering up to 7.1 channels at 96k
sampling frequency/24 bit depth resolution. It allows content creators to deliver rich, high definition audio on movies
where disc space may not allow for DTS-HD Master Audio.

    DTS
DTS Digital Surround is the standard for providing 5.1 channels of discrete digital audio in consumer
    electronics products and software content.

    DTS-ES
DTS-ES is the only digital audio format capable of delivering 6.1 channels of discrete audio in the consumer
electronics market. DTS-ES is also fully backwards-compatible with DTS decoders that are not
    Extended Surround equipped.

    DTS Neo:6
DTS Neo:6 provides up to six channels of matrix decoding from stereo matrix material.

    DTS 96/24
DTS 96/24 offers an unprecedented level of audio quality for multi-channel sound on DVD-Video, and is fully
backward-compatible with all DTS decoders. "96" refers to a 96kHz sampling rate
(compared to typical 48kHz sampling rate.) "24" refers to 24-bit word length.

DTS Surround Sensation - Ultra PC
DTS Surround Sensation - Ultra PC is the perfect audio solution for people that listen to music or watch movies on their computers,
with just 2 speakers. Whether your audio source is stereo or surround sound, you can enjoy a virtual surround effect.

    DTS Neural Surround
DTS Neural Surround is the bridge between stereo and 5.1 surround audio.
Products with the DTS Neural Surround logo allow for seamless conversion
between stereo and 5.1 audio through the capture, edit, management and broadcast process.

    Dolby TrueHD
Dolby TrueHD is Dolby’s latest lossless technology, the ultimate audio experience for high-definition disc-based media.
Dolby TrueHD on Blu-ray Disc allows viewers to hear exactly what was captured during the recording and mastering process,
bringing a palpable and involving audio presence to the home theater experience.

    Dolby Digital Plus
Dolby Digital Plus is the next-generation audio format that delivers "better-than-DVD" sound in high-definition packaged media
because it requires less compression and provides more channels (up to 7.1).
Dolby Digital Plus also provides new coding efficiencies for future broadcasting and streaming of multichannel audio.

    Dolby Digital EX
Dolby Digital EX introduces a center rear channel to 5.1-channel playback, expanding the surround sound experience to 6.1 channels.
It intelligently identifies audio information in the left and right surround channels. One or two speakers placed behind the listener provide increased
realism for front-to-back sounds and those originating from directly behind the listener.

    Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital is a powerful audio format that provides up to 5.1 separate channels of crystal-clear digital surround sound,
bringing entertainment to life. A worldwide standard in film, broadcast, and DVDs,
Dolby Digital delivers unrivaled audio in home theater systems for an exciting, enveloping surround sound experience.

    Dolby Digital Live
Dolby Digital Live converts any audio signal in real time from PCs or game consoles into Dolby Digital for easy connection to home theater systems
through a single digital cable. Users can enjoy PC or game audio entertainment with exciting realism
through home theater receivers or other devices equipped with Dolby Digital decoding technology.

    Dolby Surround
Dolby Surround technology encodes four channels of audio (Left/Center/Right/Mono Surround) onto just two audio tracks
for media such as TV broadcasts and feature films on VHS. On systems containing Dolby Pro Logic technology,
the audio is reconstructed to its original four-channel surround sound.

    Dolby Pro Logic
Dolby Pro Logic decodes Dolby Surround movie content into four playback channels of
surround sound: Left, Center, Right, and Surround.

    Dolby Pro Logic II
Dolby Pro Logic II creates a captivating surround sound experience from any stereo (two-channel) movie, music, TV,
or game audio source. Listeners will hear all the detail and subtleties of the original stereo content,
with the added luxury of full, compelling surround sound that makes the entertainment experience feel as if it's happening all around the listener.

    Dolby Pro Logic IIx
Dolby Pro Logic IIx creates a vivid 7.1-channel surround sound experience from any stereo (two-channel), 5.1, or 6.1 movie,
music, TV, or game audio source. Dolby Pro Logic IIx examines the signal
and uses that information to expand audio into up to 7.1 channels of highly realistic, natural surround sound.

    Dolby Pro Logic IIz
Dolby Pro Logic IIz introduces a new dimension to home theater listening through the addition of front height channels,
creating a 7.1 or 9.1 playback system that enhances the spaciousness of music, movies, and video games.
The height information complements the sound from the surround speakers while honoring the original intent of the content creator.

    Dolby Headphone
Dolby Headphone creates a personal surround sound experience using any set of headphones.
The playback of music, movies, and games results in sound that is more spacious, open, and dramatic,
improving listening comfort and making listeners feel as if the action is happening all around them.

    Dolby Virtual Speaker
Dolby Virtual Speaker delivers a vibrant surround sound experience from any pair of stereo speakers, making it ideal for environments
such as small living rooms, home offices, or bedrooms where multiple speakers are not practical.

    THX Loudness Plus
THX Loudness Plus is a new volume control technology featured in THX Ultra2 Plus and THX Select2 Plus Certified pre-amps,
integrated systems and receivers. With THX Loudness Plus, home theater audiences can now experience
the rich details and ambient sound in a surround mix at any volume level.

    THX Re-EQ
THX Re-EQ is a compensation technology taking soundtracks that are mixed for large cinemas, where speakers are placed farther away from you,
and re-establishes the accurate tonal balance for your close range home theater speakers.
Without THX Re-EQ, higher frequencies sound excessively “edgy” or “bright.”
With THX Re-EQ, the movie soundtrack is true to the original immersive cinematic experience.

    THX Timbre Matching
Due to location, the tonal quality of the perceived sound coming from the side surround speakers is changed
in relationship to the sound coming from the front speakers. This is because the outer ear, called the pinna, contours
the frequency response of a sound depending upon its direction. The result is two conflicting sound fields - a front and a surround.
THX Timbre Matching technology solves this sound field problem by actually acting as an electronic pinna,
restoring and integrating the perceived frequency match between the front and surround speakers.
This technology allows you to be placed in the center of the onscreen action with smooth, rich surround sound.

    THX Adaptive Decorrelation
Many movie soundtracks have a mono surround track - especially those recorded prior to 1993.
If you are sitting closer to one surround speaker than the other, the sound collapses to the one side instead
of accurately immersing you in the onscreen action. THX Adaptive Decorrelation subtly adjusts one surround channel’s time and phase
relationship with respect to the other surround channel.
With THX Adaptive Decorrelation the listening position is expanded, providing you with the same spacious audio experience as in a movie theater.

    THX Ultra
THX Ultra Certified Products are engineered and designed for top performing products that are not dependent on a specific room size.

    THX Ultra2

Viewing distance of approximately 12 feet / 4 meters from the display to the listening position.

    THX Select

the presentation of THX Select2 Certified Receivers.

    THX Select2
THX Select2 Certified Products are engineered and designed for small to medium sized home theaters.
Viewing distance of approximately 10 feet / 3 meters from the display to the listening position.
